I recently assembled my PC and after turning it on it fails to display on the screen, facing numerous problems. I've reset the BIOS, updated the motherboard, tested only the CPU and motherboard, but nothing has changed. Several issues persist alongside the lack of startup. The red CPU indicator stays lit constantly. I can power on the machine via the power button but cannot shut it down with the same button. All ports on port 10 are also non-functional. I'm unsure what's going wrong and need assistance.

watch this video... by "mikesunboxing" follow it and it should help. with the bios flashing. I know you attempted to flash the bios already, but sometimes it doesn’t work on the first try. follow the instructions closely. pay attention to how the "file is renamed" – many people think they changed the name, but they forgot to update the extension. it might look like "msi.rom.xxx" (the x stands for the file type), which is easy to miss. also, ensure you’re using the correct USB port. after the flash completes, install the CPU and RAM, then restart. it usually takes a few minutes and a few reboots because it’s doing memory training and checking itself – this is normal. if the red light stays on after several restarts, it could indicate a problem with your CPU. another clue to watch for during reboots is your keyboard: if the computer boots the "numblock" light (and an RGB keyboard), that’s a warning sign.

This is the video I referenced
I ensured the USB stick had an msi.rom file and verified it was a .rom file. I installed it on my PC and waited for the flashing to complete. I've rebooted my PC several times and consistently got the same outcome. I let it run for 2-3 minutes, then turned it off and back on. The red light remains on, and the IO ports are still malfunctioning.

Hi... there are several factors that might keep the red light active. It seems the BIOS update might not have been applied properly. Did it trigger the steady flashing near the flash button, or did it stop instantly? You can attempt to use another USB stick to see if the issue persists. Also, check if the 8-pin CPU connector and 24-pin connector are properly seated. Remove the CMOS battery for five minutes before reinserting it and clearing it again. If that doesn’t work, try flashing the BIOS once more. Sometimes older BIOS versions help, especially if you download them from the MSI site. Be cautious with BIOS updates, particularly beta versions.

The LED beside the BIOS button kept blinking for several minutes. I’ll attempt the other solutions you recommended. I plan to use a SanDisk 256gb flash drive since it’s the only alternative I have, though it’s more recent than the one I previously used.

Hey Steve, do you think I should get the BIOS for the 7000 series? I’m checking it for the 9000 series and wondering if there might be compatibility issues. I’m not too familiar with this stuff.

yes try the one for the 7000 series. i don't think it would cause the issue, though some motherboard makers suggest upgrading the bios in a particular way. for example, i had a few asrock and giga-byte boards that required flashing to a specific bios version before trying the latest. skipping this step could lead to problems. additionally, there was a bios firmware present across all boards, which might cause issues if updated improperly. it could result in the pc booting multiple times before successfully launching into windows.

I believe I’ll need to visit a shop on Monday. I’ve tried all the advice given, changed several BIOS settings, removed the CMOS and waited a while, tested with one RAM, performed multiple reboots—still nothing works. I’ll let you know what they say the issue was!

the shop is the top choice. since they can see the board and components directly, they might notice things we can't...
sorry, I wasn't able to assist you.
