I just bought a new PC and it won't start up. It doesn't show any picture or sound even though I've plugged in my HDMI and display port to the graphics card. When I plug the monitor directly into the motherboard, nothing happens either. Is it my power supply unit? If I remove all cables except for CMOS reset and turn it on, does it power up?

When starting a troubleshooting post, always tell us about all the parts in your computer. Please write down these details like this: CPU, cooler, motherboard, RAM, hard drive or SSD, graphics card, power supply, case, operating system, monitor. Also tell me how old your power supply is besides its brand and model number. Do you have an older part from a previous PC that you reused? If yes, mention it here. I moved this thread from the "Components" section to the "Systems" section.
