Assembled a system with an i7 13700kf, MSI MGP Z690 Edge Wi-Fi, DDR4 RAM, and an RTX 3060. When powered on, it fails to boot properly. Debug LEDs for the CPU and DRAM are flashing—CPU LED is red, DRAM LED is orange. I’m unsure if the CPU is faulty, but the fans and RGB lights are working.

Have you checked for the newest BIOS first? You'll need a different machine and a USB stick (ideally with at least 8GB, though the updates aren't that extensive). MSI's site offers guidance on downloading the BIOS and using BIOS flashback on your new board. https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/MPG-Z690...R4/support

You already have a SSD with your old files inside. Just insert it and you should be able to use it without needing to flash the BIOS again.

The new motherboard needs a BIOS update. Z690 usually can't handle 13th gen Intel natively, so you'd need a Z790 board instead. Updating the BIOS is fast, simple, and hassle-free. Just ensure the computer stays on during the update process.

If you're doubtful, you can check the BIOS version by looking at the barcode on the 24-pin power connector. Could you share a photo of it?

It seems like you're looking for a solution to get your device running smoothly. You should definitely try flashing the BIOS, but be aware that older models like z690 don't support the latest 13th generation chips natively. That means updating the BIOS is crucial before proceeding further.
