My PC is this model. I upgraded it with an SSD, a Kingston A400 SSD, and a Crucial 3200MHz RAM kit. Now my GPU is stuck at around 900MHz sometimes, which affects performance. In games like Fortnite and Rainbow Six Siege, it drops to about 3.6GHz or lower, especially during intense moments. On Fortnite, FPS usually stays between 60-90 but drops significantly and frequently, sometimes to 30 every few seconds. I’m unsure what to do and don’t want to replace the system soon since I’ll get a new PC next year. Do you have any suggestions or solutions to stabilize the GPU frequency and improve FPS?
Do you have a built-in GPU on that system? The Ryzen 3 model wasn't mentioned. Disable it in the BIOS if it's the Radeon Vega. Also turn off "green" features in the BIOS for the CPU. Since 2014 Microsoft took over GPU management from users, so this adjustment should be handled in the BIOS.
My system runs on an HP PC, so I can't modify any BIOS settings.
Bios Lock works with any brand, locate the keys for your HP model. Typically F10 is used for HP, though it might vary for your specific device.
I'm locked in as a bios and can't modify settings like XMP or CPU clocks.
