The PC is experiencing delayed data transfers.
Over the past month my PC has been downloading slowly even though I’m using Ethernet and there are no other wifi problems except during downloads. Streaming at 1080p60 works fine, but games only manage about 2MB/s. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled network drivers, and there are no speed limits on Steam, Battlenet or Epic Launcher. Any advice would be appreciated.
Determine the required speeds and check if they apply to other platforms like Steam or Battle.net. Note that speeds are shown in MegaBytes, with 8 Megabits equaling one Megabyte.
Your ISP offers the following speeds as stated in the contract. Speed tests recorded show different results depending on the activity: contract speeds versus actual performance during downloads.
I expected a faster connection but instead I’m seeing much slower speeds. The downloads in browsers are only 900Kbps, which is a big drop from the 7MB/s I used to get on Steam and other platforms. It seems like this service has recently gone down significantly, unlike my usual stable internet performance.
You might be experiencing a speed mismatch—your connection is delivering 7MB/s instead of the expected 40Mbps. It could be a local issue, so testing speeds elsewhere (like on your phone) can help determine if it's a broader problem.
