The PC intermittently drops the video stream.
Recently I assembled a PC and after two months, I began experiencing video drops. Almost immediately after losing the video feed, I heard Windows 11’s default disconnect sound, and the only solution was to restart the machine. Initially, I thought it was a GPU or graphics driver problem, so I ran a DDU installer and even replaced the GPU. The issue continued, prompting someone to suggest checking the RAM. I swapped it out with an older Vengeance 3200MHz 16GB module and after two days the same problem resurfaced. A stress test on Cinebench showed no issues, indicating the CPU wasn’t the cause. Now I’m left with the PSU or the motherboard as potential culprits. Anyone else have faced this situation? Any advice would be greatly appreciated—I’m really struggling right now.
I’d really consider testing a different cable first. Poor signal quality or noise interference could lead to loss of data. If this occurs across several monitors, reinstalling Windows might be necessary. Your existing components seem solid, so it’s unlikely any single part is the issue. Looking forward to the forum!
I have two monitors so I’m confident it’s not the cables. I changed the outgoing cable, but the problem persists. I’ll try reinstalling Windows and hope it helps. I also noticed while playing Rainbow Six Siege on Discord today, I lost video but could still hear and chat clearly with friends. Thanks for the advice—I’ll give it a shot!
This is one of the best indicators that you dont have a hardware problem. Maybe try messing with the settings you have on your monitor to see if theyre possibly going into some sort of sleep mode or low power mode. Do you only notice this happening when you're playing a full screen game?
Not everything works as expected and suddenly it stops. I think the PSU or MMO might be the issue. Those are the parts I haven’t replaced yet.
