rated at 30 C° for continuous maximum power output, this PSU is a very affordable budget option. launched in 2019? if it gets hot, that’s a concern too. the unit usually handles heat well, but prolonged high temperatures might cause wear over time. it might be time to think about replacing it eventually. I’m not sure what usage conditions you’ve had with your PC. ?? I currently live in Southern China, where summers are extremely hot, and I make sure my PC gets good airflow.
Gigabyte site shows i5-8400 compatibility with F2 BIOS (likely updated). Your BIOS might be corrupted or reset, or there could be issues with the power supply or wiring. Check that both 24-pin ATX and CPU power connectors are correctly seated, and ensure the rear PSU rocker switch is engaged. Sometimes small details are missed. The PSU was the issue, so I brought it to a repair shop to test it. It started up using another PSU they had in stock.
The power supply unit is the defective one. I reside in India, specifically in Chennai—a very hot area—where temperatures often reach around 38°C and can soar to 40°C during summer. It seems my room became extremely hot on certain days, which might have contributed to its failure.
