Recently, my PC encountered a problem where it couldn’t connect to any monitor using the graphics card via Display cable and HDMI. During a game, everything worked fine until all three monitors went black. After removing the headset, I heard loud fan noises suggesting overheating. I left it on for a minute before turning it off and then restarting it. Once back on, the main monitor appeared blurry with white streaks flashing rapidly, while the other two remained normal. Pressing the shutdown button in Windows didn’t restore display functionality.
I observed that the graphics card was receiving sufficient power, fans were spinning, and it emitted a continuous whine when active. The motherboard didn’t produce any beep sounds, but error lights occasionally lit up or flashed. VGA and BOOT lights sometimes appeared, though none are currently visible.
When booting up, the PC started normally but failed to connect to any display. Both display cables and HDMI monitors stayed inactive with no messages, reverting to black when turned off and back on.
My troubleshooting steps included:
- Using a new monitor with a fresh HDMI cable.
- Disconnecting all cables, holding the power button for a minute, then reconnecting everything.
- Changing ports, switching monitors, and updating the HDMI cable.
- Trying onboard graphics, which also failed.
- Cleaning ports and connectors with compressed air.
- Opening the PC, removing RAM to check for beep codes, which appeared.
- Removing the CMOS battery, waiting a minute before reinserting it.
- Performing a thorough cleaning of ports and connectors.

I don’t have another computer to test the GPU in a different system, and my warranty has expired. The PC was built nearly four years ago.
The Ryzen 5 3600 lacks an integrated GPU. Try using a different GPU.
