Hello there! Yesterday while starting up, I saw POST code 99 and the CMOS reset. Clearing the CMOS fixed it, which meant I could boot again. I realized I need to reset the CMOS regularly or else I’ll keep getting code 99. My concern is: what should I do? If I skip resetting, I get stuck with code 99 and can’t start. But if I reset, I can boot normally, though my system feels much slower afterward. I’ve read some forum discussions about this before, but they weren’t very clear. Any advice would be great!
Check for any programs on your system that might attempt to overclock and see if a BIOS update is available.
Hey everyone! After checking the feedback, I thought about updating the BIOS. I used M-flash and restarted the system. Once it rebooted, the bottom right corner displayed code 90. I tried resetting the CMOS but got nothing. Code 90 appeared and then changed to code 99 the next day. Thanks for your support @TofuHaroto!
It seems you're having trouble locating information. Could you confirm the details? Also, do you have another CPU or board in mind that you'd like to test?
I applied a flash using MFLASH in the MSI BIOS to update the system. I’m confident I did it right. Sadly, I don’t own another motherboard or CPU—it’s just a 90 located at the bottom-right corner during startup.
Check the whole setup again. Ensure all components are correctly connected and positioned. When a computer won’t start, there’s usually little more to fix.
