The PC fails to start Windows and the BIOS display remains inactive.
My computer has been struggling for a while, and I've tried everything possible. It won't boot into Windows, and the BIOS screen isn't appearing either, so I can't access it. Additionally, the new PSU and CMOS battery didn't resolve the issue. Do you have any suggestions on how to fix this?
Exactly what occurs during startup varies widely. It could range from a completely black screen to fans turning on, with indicator lights or beeps signaling the mainboard's activity. If the CMOS battery was replaced, it's likely the BIOS was reset, erasing any stored settings. A fresh PSU might require checking all connections and components to ensure everything is properly connected. Sometimes minor looseness can prevent booting. You'd benefit from more details about the exact behavior and mainboard responses when power is applied.
The initial phase of diagnosing involves identifying whether the issue stems from hardware or software. Typically, the first action is to disconnect all drives and check if the system boots into BIOS, indicating it has no other options. If that fails, the problem likely lies with hardware. Next, attempt to boot from a USB with either the Windows installer or a Linux distribution. If the Windows installer USB works, you might access repair tools or be forced to reinstall Windows. When vital files are present and a Linux USB allows booting, use its file manager to transfer those files to another drive before reinstalling Windows. Remember, only one drive should be connected during the Windows reinstallation process.
Have you attempted the Crash Free bios procedure outlined in pages 2-4 of your manual?
I experienced the same problem! My computer has identical specs as yours—same MB, CPU, and GPU. It booted up using BIOS without needing a CMOS battery, followed the default settings, and now runs fine. I’m unsure what this means for my setup long-term. I’ve already tried several fixes: replacing the CMOS battery, resetting the CMOS header per the manual, and swapping RAM slots. Nothing worked. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
