Yesterday after upgrading the power supply and graphics card, my PC failed to start. Only the RGB indicator of the Asus B550 Tuf gaming plus remained on. After five hours of troubleshooting with a hardware enthusiast (who assembled many PCs), we disconnected everything and reconnected it step by step. He suggested jump-starting the 24-pin cable using a PSU voltage tester, then reattached it right after powering it back on—then it booted perfectly! All components functioned correctly. If we powered off the PC and PSU for four minutes and tried again, nothing happened. We attempted several fixes: replacing the CMOS battery, testing with another PSU (same result), and updating the BIOS. What do you think? Is my Asus B550 Gaming TUF still working or has it stopped responding? There might still be a chance!
You could have used another PSU and still faced the same problem, likely pointing to the motherboard. Did you use different cables with the new PSU, or were they identical to those from the original PSU?
It seems the issue isn't related to the power supply unit itself, as it wouldn't trigger RGB indicators if it entered protection mode. The problem likely lies in the mainboard, making it unable to transmit the necessary power signal to the PSU. Troubleshooting and repairing could end up being more expensive than replacing the mainboard.
Inspect the CPU for any bent pins to ensure proper functionality.
I don't think this matches any issues I've encountered before, though I'll go over what I've seen earlier. My Impact VIII doesn't power on with the Hercules 1600 units but functions normally with others. The PSUs themselves are fine with everything except this board. When I supply power, the board shows standby power but doesn't respond—pressing either the board's power switch or the case switch gives nothing. Swapping either the board or the PSU works. I haven't tried switching the PSU to another make/model yet; maybe that could help. If you use a different PSU, let me know and see if it resolves the problem.

Are you using the power switch to activate the device or are you bypassing it? It could be a defective power switch or an incorrect front panel connection.
We attempted to jump start the power switch directly from the board, but it didn’t work. When we jump started the PSU via the 24 pins, we had to turn it off, reconnect the pins, and restore power before testing the case’s power button (it needed to be pressed quickly).
It seems the issue might be with the motherboard, though it could also relate to the CPU. The recent GPU or power supply changes might have affected the memory or CPU, but this wasn’t an issue before. You don’t want to spend around $500 on a new CPU and memory only to face the same problems later.
