Hello,
I’m experiencing an unusual situation after setting up my PC. The system functions normally when I press SHUT DOWN in Windows, but when I try to RESTART it, the screen turns black with no video, fans spin, LEDs stay lit, and the computer fails to restart at all. I have to manually press the power button on the case until it powers off before I can turn it back on. This issue happens whenever I need a restart, whether due to updates, program requests, or a BSOD.

I’ve updated the BIOS and video drivers, tested everything on both Windows 10 and Windows 11 (cleanly formatted without software), and disabled memory EXPO, but the problem remains. Each time I need to restart, I have to hold the power button on the case, which is frustrating—it might break updates and could harm components over time.

Details of my setup:
- CPU: Ryzen 7 7800X3D
- GPU: RTX 4080 Super
- RAM: ADATA XPG Lancer DDR5 32GB 6000MHz
- Motherboard: B650E Steel Legend WiFi
- Storage: Kingston Fury Renegade 2TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2
- Power Supply: Corsair SF750 80 PLUS Platinum
- OS: Windows 10

I’m also told the issue persists on Windows 11.

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!
RAM: ADATA XPG Lancer DDR5 32GB 6000MHz – I notice this memory seems unusual (my gut tells me something).
What makes you think so about the RAM? Do you have a link to the kit?
BIOS version: Are you using the latest BIOS for your motherboard? Have you reset the CMOS after confirming the BIOS was updated to the newest release?

Hi! Thanks for the welcome.
Here are the memory modules I have: ADATA XPG Lancer DDR5 32GB (2x16GB) 6000MHz Black - AX5U6000C4016G-DCLABK.
I thought the issue might be related to the memory because I read somewhere that Samsung chips were involved, and they mentioned problems with Samsung modules on the AM5 platform. But there seems no link to what’s happening during the restart.
I’m using BIOS version 3.01 from May 2024. I didn’t reset the CMOS after updating the BIOS, but after your advice, I cleared it. Still, the same error appears. I’ve tried other modules and the situation hasn’t changed.
