The PC fails to start following RAM modification.
Hello, my friend recently installed new RAM modules. After fitting them in, the system fails to boot and instead emits a rapid beeping, preventing access to BIOS. I recommended trying a factory reset of the BIOS, but that didn’t help. Even after switching to older 2x4GB RAM, the computer still won’t start. I think the motherboard might be faulty, given that four slots appear damaged. Here are the details:
- Motherboard: Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 (Socket AM3+)
- CPU: FX-8350
- RAM: Kingston HyperX Fury HX316C10FRK2 16GB
- Source: Manual available at the provided link
- PC specs: [link]
Please let me know if you have any ideas or further assistance. Thanks!
Check if the RAM is placed in the right slots and matches the motherboard specifications.
They work together perfectly. Both fit into just two functional ports.
Additionally, during startup, the motherboard emits a series of quick beeps that are difficult to track accurately
Examine the motherboard manual carefully. Each beep indicates a specific function or status within the system.
I'm having trouble locating what you're referring to. Could you provide more details?
