The PC fails to start after selecting the restart option.
You're experiencing an issue where your B550 AORUS Elite remains stuck in the loading screen after a restart. The instructions suggest manually entering the BIOS using the DEL key or F12 to access the boot menu, but pressing any key doesn't resolve the problem. When you power off and then turn it back on, it boots normally. This behavior typically occurs only during restarts, not when shutting down and rebooting.
The cause could be related to a faulty BIOS setup, corrupted system files, or hardware issues. To fix it, you may need to:
- Reconfigure the BIOS settings manually if possible.
- Perform a factory reset of the motherboard.
- Check for driver updates or hardware compatibility.
- If the issue persists, consider consulting a professional technician.
I've got the newest BIOS (F16), though it seems to occur every time, beginning with F13 which came with the original system. Yes, it only happens when I restart or after exiting BIOS. When I normally power on my PC for regular use, it boots fine (Windows works). Restarting causes issues.
I don't recall this problem on Windows 10, though I used it briefly so it's hard to remember. Now I'm using Windows 11—could it be related to that update? I completed the upgrade from Windows 10 to 11 via the settings menu, and I have the newest drivers and updates installed.
It isn't related to Windows 11. If the screen goes blank after startup (the motherboard image before Windows loads), it likely points to hardware issues rather than a Windows problem. You can verify your system status by running these commands in sequence: chkdsk c: /scan DISM /online /cleanup-image /RestoreHealth sfc /scannow Do you have any older components such as mechanical drives, add-in cards, or legacy USB devices connected to your machine? Have you attempted to run the system with all non-essential parts removed?
on my USB I have just mouse, keyboard, and game controller plus mic and speakers via audio jacks. I've tested everything without power, and my other components are fine: two NVMe SSDs, two standard SATA 3 SSDs, a 5700X CPU, an RTX 3070 GPU, 750W PSU. I noticed that pressing the restart button works normally, but it only triggers when I manually restart via Windows (pressing start-power-restart or alt+f4).
