I've been using this external LG Blu-ray player for nearly a year now. Recently, when I power on the system it just freezes and stays on a black screen, and my peripherals won't turn on. The Q-Code on my Crosshair VIII Hero WiFi displays "3E" with a yellow indicator, indicating "Post-Memory PCH initialization started." The only way for my PC to restart normally is by disconnecting the drive from the motherboard before powering it back on. I attempted to update the drivers for this particular device, but LG's website doesn't list any available drivers for their products.

Occasionally this occurs. USB devices might disrupt your PC's startup process, and there are no reliable solutions for it.

Check your boot order to eliminate any USB devices. It could be stuck while searching for a bootable drive when none exists.
