The PC fails to power up due to insufficient RAM sticks installed.
I've upgraded my computer from an i5 4570 to an i7 4790k, but now the RAM isn't functioning. Plugging both sticks in doesn't get me started, and nothing appears on the screen. It seems like the DIMM slot might be faulty, though I'm not sure. Anyone have ideas or fixes for this? I'm worried it could mean I need to replace my motherboard. This has been working perfectly for years, so why did it change now?
I've already reinstalled the i5, but the dimming remains inactive.
I verified the pins, everything looks good. The BIOS recognizes the dimm1 slot and it's currently empty. Both RAM sticks are functioning properly. It appears there might be an issue with the dimm1 slot itself.
