Hello,
I faced a problem during the past week that has really hindered my ability to use my headset while gaming. Whenever I play games with microphone input, join Discord voice lobbies, or switch sound settings in Discord, I experience sudden freezes and audio interruptions. This issue has only appeared on my new PC, which is different from any previous desktops I've used, making it quite unusual. Could anyone suggest a solution to this problem?

Download this latency monitor app.
Resplendence Software - LatencyMon is a suitability checker for real-time audio and other tasks.
Execute it in the background while using your computer and during issues you encounter. Then review the outcomes to determine if it can provide insight into the causes of problems.

Thank you for your help. The message indicates potential issues with real-time audio processing and suggests possible buffer underruns causing drops or pops. It mentions long-running DPC routines in a driver and recommends checking for BIOS updates. Since recent BIOS versions have been released since the F31 update, addressing power management and CPU throttling settings might help. If that doesn’t resolve the problem, updating the BIOS could be the next step.

Once I adjusted the power settings for optimal performance and updated my BIOS to version F34, the problem continues with both my Corsair Void RGB Elite USB and my current Razer Blackshark V2. My drivers remain current.

What power configuration are you employing in Windows—Power Saving mode or High Performance mode?

Sorry I noticed you switched to High performance. Did you open Device Manager and look for any warning signs or a yellow diamond next to a system? Would you also go through it line by line in Device Manager and click manually to check if the driver updates? Also, when the graph showed problems, did it list any drivers or services as issues?

I checked for outdated drivers and everything looks current. When I re-run the test using LatencyMon, the main issues are the Nvidia Windows Kernel Mode Driver ver. 471.11 and the Kernel Mode Driver Framework Runtime. Since my Nvidia Geforce driver is already at its latest version (471,11), maybe I should try reverting to an older release? Also, I didn’t adjust any CPU throttling settings in BIOS or Control Panel, so those might be contributing factors but I’m unsure and prefer not to change them.

Consider trying to install the newest hotfix driver and see if it makes a difference.

I've changed my driver to the version you suggested and removed Razer Synapse since it was reported to generate many pagefaults. During Discord login I still face a brief stutter when joining a voice channel, requiring me to tweak my microphone settings for it to work properly. Unlike before, my system no longer triggers the same clicks, pops, or stutters while playing online games that use my mic or when using Discord alongside them. A full hour of Destiny 2 running in a Discord lobby would have definitely caused this problem before I tried to resolve it, so hopefully I've fixed it now. I'll let you know if any issues remain.
