My friends lost his phone. He doesn’t recall his Gmail password and the recovery code is incorrect. On his PC he’s using Windows Mail. The password should be saved somewhere. We need to recover it to reach his phone. Any help would be very much appreciated. There’s no way to get it through Gmail.

Windows Mail doesn't save passwords in plain text. It will use a cookie or certificate for login. We can't assist you in accessing the account. They'll need to track down the phone and verify your recovery details afterward.

Sure, just confirming—I’m not attempting to access the account directly. I was thinking the password might be saved in the registry.

I get the point. I have access to his computer. It’s not about remote login from my own device. If anyone can assist, I’m ready to provide photos of him with his mum and dad to show we’re acting properly. He just needs to log in to locate my phone because it got lost in the snow. His mom assumed her email was on his phone, but he changed it to his own. It was worth trying. I’ve also lent him my old Galaxy for Norwl until he gets a new one.

Reach out to the telecommunications provider offering the service. They could help find the missing phone.

O2 had already attempted. They only advised him to inform the authorities. The cops aren’t going to assist in locating him. They won’t take any action to help.

When the "Find My Device" feature is activated, they can track the phone as long as it has power. It’s not possible to file an official police report for a lost item. This suggests you’re speaking with someone who isn’t familiar with the situation.
