As mentioned in the headline, I'm running the FX-6300 on a gigbyte 970a-ds3p (rev 2) motherboard with a cool master EVO 212 cooler and an 850W PSU. My BIOS doesn't display the standard voltage, instead showing a Vcore of -/+ which I've adjusted to .240, equating to 1.404-1.440V according to CPU Z and a multiplyer setting. This results in a clock speed of 4.5 GHz. The temperature is acceptable, but core #3 shows utilization between 5-20%. Is this an issue or a glitch? Since everything has been stable so far at 4.4 GHz with a 1.38 GHz output, should I revert to that setting? What might be causing this?

I saw those utilization figures at benchmarks and during test programs.

CountMike asked about the utilization numbers, benchmarks, and test programs. He mentioned using Prime 95 for stress testing and ran 3D Mark 11 twice with Prime 95 for additional checks. He noted core 3 remained stable over nearly three hours, with temperatures staying around 80% and overall usage above 75%. He also observed other cores fluctuating between 90-100% while core 3 stayed lower. He questioned whether this indicated too much or too little power and considered turning off auto settings. He wondered if the issue was related to insufficient power.
