I have a user who acts as a delegate in Outlook, managing appointments and sending invites for others. When they open another person's calendar, right-clicking an event or meeting and deleting it causes it to reappear as canceled but not actually removed. I suspected Exchange ActiveSync might be enabled but wasn't, tried disabling it, and checked the assigned delegate settings. Calendar permissions were customized except for inbox and tasks, which stayed standard.

I'm trying to understand why, when a delegate removes an event on behalf of someone else, the event seems to reappear with a different status.

Permission levels
Another thought, just for the record: In Outlook is there a "Try the new Outlook" button in the upper right corner?
If so, is the button "On"?
Not entirely certain about what the "New Outlook" means, but it wouldn’t be surprising if some adjustments are included.

Permission settings are assigned through delegates with tailored access rights. A screenshot shows the change from "Delete Items" to "All" in an older Outlook version. They might attempt this using a newer Outlook version.

Problems settled on their own. The access settings needed some time to align. Over 24 hours.
