I don't agree, 8 seems to be the lowest standard for most games now.

it should likely run smoothly once you stop everything else. FPS might not be perfect, but it should function. I don’t own this game, but I’ve played on very limited hardware—just 4GB RAM worked fine without major issues. The only hiccup was at 2GB, where the CPU was a basic Atom model with no dedicated GPU. 8GB would be ideal.

Several new releases perform well with less than 8GB of VRAM. Overwatch is a good example.

They won't achieve the best results. For me, upgrading from 4 gb to 8 gb showed noticeable performance improvements.
