Which motherboard are you using? The bright orange glow often indicates various details based on the brand that made it.

We need a clear overview of the situation. Please share the relevant details: build type, past performance, start date of issues, CPU, RAM, power supply. Keep it concise so we can quickly understand what happened and why.

I chose to upgrade my CPU from a Pentium G4400 to an i5 9400F. When I did that, the orange light appeared, and I also changed the system wiring. I believe this was when things went wrong. I have one stick of Ballistix 8GB RAM and a 500EVGA PSU.

We seem to have identified the problem. The Z270 likely can't handle that CPU. After reviewing, it appears the BIOS isn't compatible with it. Unless you're doing some unusual BIOS tweaks, this model doesn't support that processor.

It's the identical connector, isn't it important in certain situations?

If you reviewed your motherboard's CPU compatibility chart, you'll notice it doesn't support the latest chipsets. The best compatible processors are the 7th generation Intel models; 9th generation isn't allowed.
