The online game, Warzone, unexpectedly ceased to function.
I just installed Warzone on my computer and played it a few times without issue, aside from unusually high temperatures. However, it recently crashed, and now whenever I relaunch the game, it runs incredibly slowly before eventually freezing. I performed stress and performance tests on my processor, all of which were successful, and also tested my graphics card, finding it to be operating correctly. I’ve updated my drivers and reinstalled the game as well, but nothing has resolved the problem. Can you suggest potential causes? Notably, the game now begins to lag immediately upon loading it, and this issue began precisely after the initial crash – prior to which, the game performed flawlessly. What steps can I take to definitively identify the source of this difficulty?
I’ve encountered this problem on two separate computers. A solution that has worked for me is to download Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) and execute it in safe mode, performing a clean uninstall and restart. Following this, I reinstall the graphics card driver, which resolves the issue temporarily – usually for a few days – before requiring me to repeat the process. However, the game will function correctly during this period.
I appreciate that! I plan to test this out later tonight and see if it resolves the issue, and I’ll provide an update. P.S. It's surprising that I discovered someone else experiencing the identical problem—it’s malfunctioning shortly after a crash, and it doesn't appear to be discussed on any forums. Activision seems to believe they’re operating like the KGB by banning my Reddit posts regarding support, which is quite amusing.
Thank you for your response. I revised and reinstalled the drivers (though I haven’t yet used DDU), but this did not resolve the problem. It is unlikely that a driver update caused it, as it ceased functioning immediately following the crash, not after any modification.
Are the high temps from the CPU or GPU?
Can you list your system specs....
You could also try verifying the game files through the Blizzard launcher. just to cheack all is as it should be from that end.
The temperatures were elevated for both the processor and graphics card, often resulting in sustained performance reductions. I suspect that this throttling began prior to the game’s failure, and that issues with lagging emerged afterward. The game now exhibits immediate stuttering before the hardware reaches high temperatures. My system configuration includes: an HP OMEN 15-dc1024na laptop with a 15.6” FHD display at 144Hz, an Intel Core i7-9750H processor, 8 GB of RAM, a 512 GB SSD, and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti (6 GB graphics). I have already attempted file scanning and repair, reinstalled the game completely, and even checked for errors. I am now planning to reinstall my graphics drivers using DDU to see if it resolves the problem. Additionally, I downloaded Fortnite to test if a potential hardware issue is specific to Call of Duty; I’m looking for advice on optimal settings to ensure a reliable performance test.
I recently attempted a full system refresh, including reinstalling drivers and redownloading games, to resolve an ongoing issue. I then tested Fortnite at its highest settings across all components, achieving a stable frame rate without any lagging. Despite similar CPU usage and maximum frequencies in both Fortnite and Warzone, Warzone consistently exhibited thermal throttling while Fortnite performed flawlessly. I've tried reinstalling my storage devices, setting game priority to normal, and ensuring no other applications were running in the background—I’m at a loss for what could be causing this. If anyone can offer insight, I would greatly appreciate it. It seems the problem arose shortly after a system crash, and I suspect it might be related to drivers or potentially undetected hardware issues. Could someone please assist me?
Revised: Testing this—it appears to be functioning successfully at the moment:
