4GB drives should fit in that device, though if you don’t require 16GB, it’s better to use 4x4GB sticks.
Checked PC part picker for 4x4 RAM and found options. Looking for suppliers or retailers that carry it.
Quick question, just to clarify a few things: The configuration that works is 4 x 1GB sticks from hynix in the picture above? The configuration that does not work is 2 x 4GB sticks from Corsair? Motherboard is a Dell 018D1Y CPU is ???? Have you tried mixing the two kits, i.e. 2 x 1GB plus 2 x 4gb? I am currently looking for the manual of the motherboard, hopefully there is more information in there. OK, my suspicion is that the G43 chipset on the motherboard only supports up to 8GB in total, in the form of 4 x 2GB modules. At least that is what an old Dell documentation for the Inspiron 560/570 says: https://dl.dell.com/manuals/all-products...560_user's guide_en-us.pdf
