my hyper evo isn't cooling well enough, so i'm considering getting a new aio cooler. i had a water cooler before with nzxt x52, but it didn't work properly and sounded like something was stuck in the fan. now i'm thinking about switching to a different model. should i go for the nzxt x52 or another option?

It's just 40mm, so you probably won't see much change. However, remember to retain all the screws since the backplate will differ with the new LGA 1151 you'll receive. Apart from that, appreciate the sleek infinity mirror.

I own the x62, but I'm unsure if cutting $149 is worthwhile for a 5-year-old CPU. You might want to look into a $40 Cryorig H5/H7 instead.
The new Krakens perform well, though they can be challenging with CAM software. Once you overcome that, they maintain stability.
By the way, what temperatures are you seeing with your Hyper 212?

Just for fun, what temperatures are you seeing with your Hyper 212?
That's why I'm hesitating to buy a new cooler—currently I'm at 79°C while in Overwatch, just relaxing without much activity, and I plan to upgrade my CPU once I have more funds.

It's suggested to consider the Cryorig A40 or A80, as investing that much in an outdated CPU isn't beneficial.

If you're definitely getting the i7, choose the x52. If your case supports it, opt for the x62 to run all 280 fans. The main reason I have it is that I previously had two 140mm Noctua fans.

I can't go with the x62 if it's paired with a NZXT S340.

If you really need that i7, choose the x52, and if your case supports it, opt for the x62 with all 280 fans. The only reason I own it is because I previously had two 140mm Noctua fans. I can't use the x62 with an NZXT S340, but it works fine with the S340 since the fans face out. I have a video on YT, though I don't want to share it just to look for views. My main point is that the x62 functions well with the S340 and I also have a Hue+.

Herc08 shared his thoughts on choosing fans. He suggests going with the x52 if the case supports it, or the x62 for the full 280 fans. He mentions having two 140mm Noctua fans before and notes that the fans need to face out. He also says he has a video on YT but isn’t posting it to gain views. He believes the x62 works well with his S340 and has a Hue+ fan. He plans to order it now and won’t return it for performance improvements.
