It might be faulty. Have you used it on a different machine? Micro Center might also be able to check it.

The display isn't showing the BIOS info anymore once you switch to the desktop; it's still presenting that information in the BIOS settings.

That concept doesn't make much sense... Consider moving it to another location to check for changes. It's curious the BIOS lists 2TB while Windows shows around 2GB.

The process remains consistent regardless of the location. I attempted that, and the display during installation matches what appears on my laptop.

I understand everyone else suggested returning the drive for a replacement. But if you prefer not to, you can perform a complete secure erase via your UEFI settings or Samsung Magician. If this doesn’t alter its performance, it’s clearly a defective unit.
