I'm unable to use a driver version higher than 512.72 on my laptop; otherwise, brightness settings default to maximum and remain unchanged. After installing version 527.37, the issue continues. The problem began after a recent driver update and has reappeared whenever I update drivers again. Despite resetting and reformatting the device multiple times, it hasn't improved. I'm trying to identify the root cause but haven't found a solution. Are others experiencing similar issues? My machine is a Dell G15 5515 with a Ryzen 7 5800H and RTX 3060.
I don’t have a solution beyond using the older driver at this time. If the problem stems from the driver, it could be resolved later. The 512.72 figure refers to June 2022, which is still recent enough for your 30 series GPU.
I have the identical machine with the identical issue, and it's really frustrating for me.
Many driver updates can cause problems with system components due to limited compatibility. Nvidia conducts testing across various platforms, but some issues still arise unexpectedly. This particular problem seems linked to contacting Nvidia directly. Their live chat service appears to be the quickest method for investigating and resolving such matters.
