The number pad isn't functioning on your laptop.
It's an HP laptop with several issues so far—no buttons worked, numlock didn't respond, drivers weren't updated, pending updates were missing, and peripheral diagnostics showed no problems. The keyboard seems fine but the numpad is missing. Anyone have any ideas? It's really annoying to work on it without that feature.
I have checked it, It don't have numpad. But regardless there is a system check thingy which can be opened by pressing f2 when starting the system, and in all the keys are working without any issues, It defenetely seems to be software issue. Not sure if it is from windows or other bios related software. Thanks for effort anyway
I found an unusual workaround, though it’s not always reliable. While working in a routine, I accidentally pressed random keys and typed nonsensical text in my editor. I began testing the number pad by clicking keys haphazardly, repeatedly enabling NumLock, then holding it down. After a long press, the number pad responded—except when I re-enabled NumLock, it ceased to function. This happened consistently under certain conditions. Here’s the method: keep NumLock pressed while you tap another key on the number pad (usually the "/" key). The toggling halts once you hit that key. (Caution: may not work with mechanical keyboards.) If the toggle ends with NumLock still active, the pad should work again. Otherwise, try toggling until it’s enabled at the end. Usually takes 1–3 tries. Remember, you can disable NumLock with one press, but reactivating it requires repeating the steps. This hasn’t been tested on mechanical keyboards.
