The new Wi-Fi card may have disrupted audio output.
I just set up the new TP-link ax3000 and my headphones aren’t working properly. The audio plays but there’s intense static, like someone is welding in the background. I’ve checked all components and can’t figure out what’s wrong. I tried using them on my laptop—it worked fine. When I swapped out the audio switcher and used the rear speakers, it was the same issue. I also tested the front panel, unplugged the splitter, and used the combo setup everywhere, but still got that same static. My sound quality was decent about five minutes before I installed the Wi-Fi card. It’s almost like it’s close to the front panel audio, but I’m not sure yet. I also connected the card via a PCIe 1x slot in a 16x port, but that didn’t fix anything either. Can you help me figure this out?
I've experienced a comparable problem with audio before, though it wasn't linked to system installation. It seems more noise occurs when you move your mouse while the computer is running. The problem was due to an electrical fault in my motherboard, and adding a sound card helped resolve it. Have you considered taking out the card to check if the issue continues?
No, the mouse issue doesn't occur. I'll give it another shot, thanks.
Uncertain about its exact nature, but sometimes Windows update notifications can cause issues.
Disconnect the Wi-Fi module and observe if the interference disappears. If the static vanishes, the module is adding unwanted electromagnetic noise into your setup, which appears as static in your headphones. In my experience, TP Link products are unreliable and shouldn’t be used. I’d exchange it for a model with an Intel AX210 chipset.
