Someone else seems really let down by the gameplay. It’s hard to believe I’d settle for anything other than UT3. I played a few matches, asked others about their thoughts on the gun mechanics, and noticed everything felt too easy. The flak cannon was the only one that didn’t get as much nerfed, but even then it didn’t feel balanced. Many weapons seemed weak or overpowered, especially the enforcer which felt like just a cone of fire. Overall, it felt slow and lacking in challenge. It’s disappointing, especially since I love UT. What are your feelings?
For UT I focus only on instagib. There aren't many servers, and those that exist often lack active players. I've tried a few maps, but they felt uninteresting. The maps themselves are dull, the gameplay repetitive, and the audio uninspiring. It's (pre-)alpha, so hopefully things will improve. I'll keep watching, but I'm no longer excited about it.
I haven't used it in a while, but it worked fine then. The main issue is there aren't many completed maps and the weapons feel a bit odd, though it's still in early development. I expect a lot of changes will come. Also, I believe UT3 is the top version compared to UT99.
