it doesn't necessarily have to be this complicated. If you're lucky, you can connect an EPROM burner directly. Otherwise, you might need to remove the BIOS chip and reattach it later. You'd have to solder the chip onto the bracket for the burner and then take it off again. Since you didn't specify the board, it was just a guess. Alternatively, you could use a 12th or 13th generation CPU if someone has one. To boot and update it, you can install your own processor.

That seems like a lot to consider, but I believe I’ll go back. Do you have any suggestions for a motherboard that comes with 14th gen chips ready to use without updating the BIOS? The MSI MAG Z790 TOMAHAWK MAX WIFI might fit the bill.

review the board bios and see what updates they mention. If there are changes beyond the original bios, it probably means it was released before the 14th generation arrived.

This could be a simple question, but how can I locate it?

Check the compatibility list for both models. The MSI Z790 GAMING PLUS WIFI supports 14th gen out of the box, while the TOMAHAWK MAX WIFI also meets that requirement. Consider your specific needs and preferences when deciding which one fits best.
