I got my new server from Supermicro today and am really pleased with it. But I spotted a detail: the RAM isn’t set up in a dual-channel setup – or perhaps it is? I checked the motherboard manual, but the instructions were a bit confusing. Typically, manuals just say to install in A1 and B1 first, but this one seems less straightforward. Edit: DDR5 should offer more flexibility for dual-channel configurations. It looks like the layout might be all B all A or B2 and A2. For those curious, here are the specs: Supermicro X13SCL-F motherboard (integrated), Intel Xeon E3-2468 8-core, 0 e-core, 16 threads, 24 MB cache, Micron 64 GB RAM, 4800 DDR5 ECC, Micron 1 TB 7450 Pro SSD, and a 2x Seagate Enterprise 16 TB HDD.
