Hey everyone, I just managed to install my new RTX 3080 and was facing a few hiccups. A bit about my setup: I have a complete custom water loop with a pump/res combo, a 360-degree front panel, a 240-degree top view, and both CPU and GPU blocks. Most of today was spent trying to fit the new graphics card into my hardline loop—finally succeeded after a thorough installation and leak test. Once connected, it works fine on my second monitor, but on my ultrawide screen it still struggles, showing resolution drops even after updating the drivers. It runs okay on my older 1080p monitor, though I notice some odd problems where the image just cuts out. My PC specs include a Ryzen 9 5900X, RTX3080 (formerly GTX1070), 32GB RAM, M.2 PCIe Gen3 SSD, 1TB SATA SSD, 2TB HDD, Corsair RM750W PSU, plus the custom loop. I’m guessing I might have the right cause, but before making any more purchases, I’d love some expert advice from the community. Any suggestions would be a huge help! Thanks!

Tried forcing your driver and then reinstalling a fresh one. My new 3080 with 12GB didn't show up in GPU-Z even though the driver supported it. It worked before using the 3060 Ti with an older driver version, then switched to a newer driver while using the 3060 Ti without changing the driver. After putting it into safe mode, updating the driver, and rebooting, everything recognized properly.
I got enough going to run a DDU and then reinstalled the newest NVidia driver. Now it’s not sending any signal at all. I think the issue might be that my 750w PSU is being pushed too hard, which could mean the GPU isn’t getting enough power.
For those facing this problem, I found a resolution. It turned out the PCI-E 3.0 riser wasn’t compatible with the PCI-E 4.0 GPU. You can either switch to another GPU to capture the signal or adjust your BIOS settings to use a 3.0 riser. A key takeaway is that PCI-E supports backward compatibility, but risers often don’t.
