You're having trouble getting your Asus RT AC88U online even though your modem is working. It might be an issue with the Wi-Fi settings, network configuration, or a problem with the device itself. Try restarting both your modem and router, checking for firmware updates, and ensuring you're using the correct Wi-Fi channel. If the problem persists, contact Asus support for further assistance.

Did you check the router settings for any problems? Reminder: avoid purchasing Asus routers at all costs.

Did you link the router through the wan port to the modem? Did you activate the setup wizard on the router to request DHCP assignment? Is the modem functioning as a standalone device, or would installing a new router require time to obtain a valid IP from your ISP? More details would help.

Varies with the configuration; if your router supports DHCP, connect the cable to the internet/wan port on the device. The coverage from your modem might differ from what the router sets up, which could affect your connection. Options include: - Switch your modem to bridge mode so the router assigns IP addresses. - Turn off DHCP on the router and try again (ensure the internet/wan port isn't used).

DHCP stands for Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol. It’s a method used to automatically assign IP addresses and other network settings to devices on a network.

The modem uses a specific model, which you should confirm from your device settings. The router is connected via Ethernet or Wi-Fi to the modem. You utilized the router's wizard for setup; it guided you through connecting devices and configuring network details.
