I needed fresh RAM because my previous unit was causing issues with the CPU. I purchased a "Trident Z Neo 16GB 8x2 3600mhz" and my old one was an "XPG 16GB at 1,666 MHz." My processor is a "Ryzen 5 3400G" and the previous RAM was boosting performance to around 90 FPS on low graphics like Fortnite. After installing the new RAM, I’m seeing 30-40 FPS now. I noticed my old RAM was running at 2,133 MHz, but I updated the BIOS to set it to 3,200 MHz. Checking Task Manager showed the CPU reporting the correct frequency and still only achieving under 40 FPS. My new RAM is working better than the old one, so it seems the problem might be with the motherboard. It supports up to 3,200 MHz, but I’m unsure if that’s enough for optimal performance.
Are you sure? I’ve restarted the CMOS several times while adjusting the settings, but I’m going to switch my RAM to slots 2 and 4.
You’ve changed your RAM placement and reset the CMOS, but the system is now using the default 2133MHz speed. Check the motherboard manual to confirm the correct clock frequency for your new RAM configuration. If needed, adjust the BIOS settings or use a memory test tool to verify compatibility.
