Hey everyone, I recently assembled my first PC and faced an issue connecting the HDMI cable to the monitor—it didn’t show anything. I’ve verified the BIOS version matches the CPU, checked all cables and RAM installation, but everything seems fine. Could be something else is causing the problem? Also, the monitor is old yet it’s working, and the PC starts up but there’s no display.

do you have the hdmi connected to the motherboard or your graphics card? if you have a separate graphics card, connect the hdmi there. if you don’t have one, check that your cpu includes built-in graphics.

Check the connected components such as the motherboard and GPU. Look for any displayed error codes on the motherboard.

Here’s a clearer version of your steps:

1. Start with basic to advanced, as that’s how I usually proceed.
2. Ensure the monitor is powered on.
3. Connect the HDMI cable to both the GPU and monitor (use the HDMI port on the GPU if needed).
4. Try the HDMI cable on a working TV—cables can wear out or break.
5. If there’s no display, check the motherboard for error codes and refer to the manual.
6. Disconnect and reconnect everything carefully.
7. Remove and reinsert the GPU, making sure it connects properly with the motherboard and that power is connected.
8. If you have integrated graphics, unplug the GPU and use the built-in graphics. Update BIOS, check settings, and reinstall the GPU if needed.
9. If nothing works, go back to using integrated graphics, download the latest drivers, and try reinstalling the GPU.
Hope this helps!

Check connected device, just the dedicated GPU HDMI is functioning properly. Already verified before. Unplugged once but will reinstall GPU to test. Thanks for the update – April 10, 2022, HELPXD
