Hello, I recently set up a new PC and here are the key details: - Motherboard ATX MSI Pro B650-P WiFi; - AMD Ryzen 7900; - 2x16 Corsair Vengeance DDR5-5600MHz; - SSD M.2 2280 Western Digital Black SN770 1TB 3D NAND NVMe; - EVGA GQ 750W 80 Plus Gold Semi Modular; - Zotac 3070 Ti; After updating the BIOS, when I entered it after the DRAM speed showed 4800MHz, I activated a-xmp and nothing further happened. The PC lit up the RGB indicators and the motherboard yellow LED stayed on for about five minutes. It wasn’t sure if I had damaged anything, so I turned it off and waited a bit before trying again. Clearing the BIOS and adjusting the speed to 5600 worked similarly. Then I tried turning it down to 5200, but the yellow light still appeared. Now both the CPU (red) and DRAM (yellow) lights flash on the motherboard, followed by a white GPU light after roughly 10-20 seconds. After that, the PC boots normally into Windows. The BIOS now shows the speed as 5200. Is this typical? I was hoping for maximum performance but am worried about those warning lights when I power on the machine. XMP is merely a way to configure RAM speed and timing. You can achieve similar outcomes by adjusting the settings yourself. It looks like you can't hit 5600, so going with 5200 should work and only reduce bandwidth by about 10%, which in most cases won’t cause significant performance drops—especially if your RAM isn’t heavily loaded. This kind of loss is rare with DDR5 unless you're running very demanding tasks.
