The new PC isn't displaying anything on the screen, could be a problem with the motherboard.
Hello everyone,
Below I’ve listed all my hardware at the bottom of this post. Thank you for taking the time to read. I just finished assembling my PC and faced a few minor issues—I’m confident everything turned out correctly overall. Once the build was complete, connecting the monitor showed "no signal." After some troubleshooting, I explored simpler fixes like swapping RAM, removing the graphics card, resetting CMOS, and changing the battery. Still, it didn’t work.
Later I realized my motherboard’s DRAM LED stays lit in orange, whether with my original RAM or the ones provided by the technician. Could this be a compatibility issue? I checked compatibility sites and found my RAM model wasn’t listed for my motherboard. It seems there might be restrictions on certain RAM types or frequencies. Could it be that my motherboard only supports specific RAM speeds or configurations? Your help would be greatly appreciated!
Hardware details:
- Motherboard: Asus Strix B660-A gaming Wi-Fi D4
- RAM: G. Skill Trident Z 16GB, 3200MHz DDR4
- Tester RAM: G. Skill Ripjaws 8GB, 3200MHz DDR4
- GPU: ASUS TUF 3060 Ti
- CPU: Intel Core i5 13600K
- Cooler: Corsair H100 I
It's probable that a BIOS upgrade is required for the B660 to accommodate the 13600KF.
Before purchasing the processor, I consulted Asus support who confirmed compatibility with the 2022 updates for the 13th generation. If an update is necessary and you can’t see anything on your monitor, check your display settings or contact support for further assistance.
Here are the most recent specifications from the provided link:
- Model: ROG Strix B660 A Gaming WiFi D4
- Features: Includes Wi-Fi connectivity, optimized for gaming performance
- Design: Compact form factor with advanced cooling solutions
- Compatibility: Supports modern motherboards and high-speed networking standards
They shared how to flash the latest BIOS, but ASUS offered assistance. However, if these boards are still in stock before newer chips arrive—and considering Intel hasn't released a second generation for this socket—they probably won't match the required BIOS version.
You're welcome, I'll make sure to update first thing tomorrow. Appreciate your prompt feedback.
