I just assembled a new PC with these details: R5 5600x ASUS TUF B550 Wifi plus II 16gb 3200mhz Corsair Vengeance LPX RX 6750XT 500gb Crucial P2 SSD, 650 EVGA, 80+gold. On first boot the diagnostic LEDs lit up normally but stayed on the yellow/green recovery light. It shows the American Megatrends error saying "Please enter setup to recover BIOS setting. Press F1 to run setup." I've tested all BIOS options, used a single RAM stick, changed USB ports (only keyboard connected), reinserted the SSD, and tried booting from Windows USB, but nothing resolved the issue. Any advice?

Hey there, I checked the specs for that Mobo and it does seem to have a BIOS flash-back feature. It’s typically just about saving the latest BIOS onto a USB drive, connecting it to the 'flash-back' port, and turning on the PC by pressing that button. Just double-check the manual to confirm the steps. It looks like your BIOS might be a bit outdated, but having this option is really handy—it lets you update even when the CPU or RAM isn’t installed or the existing BIOS isn’t working properly!

The text highlights the transition to the American Megatrends version during boot-up and does not mention any additional details beyond that.

When the PC launches into the American Megatrends it accurately displays my system details and occasionally fails to recognize my keyboard. In the white text it asks you to enter setup to restore BIOS settings, after RAID setup, make sure the SATA configuration is set to RAID mode, then press F1 to start the setup process. You haven’t cleared this screen yet but plan to continue and use BIOS flashback for an update in a few hours.

If the keyboard doesn't respond when pressing F1, consider updating your BIOS. Make sure you don’t power off the PC during the update and avoid any power interruptions. Does your keyboard include Fn keys? If it does, test Fn+F1—though this is uncommon for the first four keys. Also, wonder if you changed the USB connection settings for the keyboard.

the keyboard is brand new 65% from womier, the rgb activates and occasionally identifies it on the american megatrends display. I think the keys aren't even being recognized as caps lock since it doesn't illuminate when pressed. We've tried fn+1 along with other combinations. Additionally, we've used various usb ports such as usb 3.0 and 2.0.

No, I didn't check them. Could you confirm if you want me to look into any specific ports or perform a test?

I used another keyboard and successfully set up Windows. Enabled DOCP, installed the chipset, LAN, and audio drivers via USB, but I’m facing issues with the Wi-Fi driver. The network adapter isn’t appearing in Device Manager.

Setting up Wi-Fi drivers on the motherboard often means visiting the official manufacturer site and downloading the installer directly. From there: https://www.asus.com/motherboards-compon...US-WIFI-II On the support page, you'll see options to download additional drivers. While utilities exist, they're generally unreliable and don't perform well for regular users. If you haven't done so, consider using chipset drivers instead of AMD Adrenalin, as it simplifies the process and ensures compatibility with both GPU and CPU. Even with Adrenalin, it's usually more effective to obtain drivers from the motherboard's official source for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and other essentials.
