The new motherboard fails to start up.
Hello, I recently purchased a new motherboard and installed it. A green flashback light is blinking. I attempted to update the BIOS, verified all connections, removed and reinserted my CPU, along with the GPU, RAM, and power supply. Despite these steps, it still won’t boot. I noticed a bent pin on the CPU corner, but I’ve fixed it. The motherboard model is Asus B550-Plus TUF Gaming WiFi II AMD AM4. The CPU runs Ryzen 5 5600G, the GPU is Radeon 6600X, RAM is 32GB Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3200MHz. There are no stickers on the power supply except a 650W rating.
Typically the flashing light indicates a flashback is occurring. This is unusual. Begin by verifying if the BIOS flashback button is activated. This may occur during a fresh installation if the I/O shield isn’t properly aligned and presses against it. Ensure you can hear a click when pressing the button, followed by its release. Testing with just the motherboard and power supply unit is sufficient for a BIOS update; other parts aren’t needed. The light should not continue to blink. If it does and the button remains unresponsive, the motherboard may be defective. You can verify with a different PSU if you suspect your current one. In short: because your board is brand new, consider requesting a refund or exchange. It’s just bad luck sometimes. Good luck!
