My friend received a new 4060 Ti and swapped it in for the 1050 Ti. Windows was functioning before, but now it fails to locate the boot manager. We attempted reinstalling the 1050 Ti, which continues to display only the BIOS screen without showing the boot manager. The BIOS confirms all three drives are installed on the motherboard, yet nothing appears there. I found some advice online suggesting a power supply issue, but PC Part Picker indicates the 550 should be fine. We tried reseating the graphics card and CMOS battery, but no clear cause seems to be working. The specs list includes an MSI Mag B550 Tomahawk AMD Ryzen 5 5600X setup with 32GB Corsair Vengeance RAM, a 550W power supply, NVMe SSD for boot drive, and a Kingston SATA SSD for the operating system.
I don’t understand how it was resolved or what actions were taken, but it finally functioned.
