I recently purchased a brand new Acer Nitro N50-640 Desktop PC. I observed that the PSU produces a consistent buzz when connected to the computer, even though the machine isn’t running. When I disconnect the motherboard from the PSU, the noise changes to a slow clicking sound. This happened while the computer was off. I’m worried about this buzzing and clicking coming from the PSU when it’s plugged in without the computer. Additionally, I can’t detect any noise from the PSU while the computer is running due to the fan sounds. Also, the PSU is rated at 500 watts with only a 12V rail, and the motherboard cables connect to an 8-pin power connector (motherboard power) and a 6-pin connector (CPU power).

Also, I'm having trouble detecting if the PSU is buzzing or clicking while the computer runs due to fan noise. You can try placing an A4 sheet of paper into a cylinder and holding one end near your ear; using the other end, you can listen for the sound's origin.
