My PC alone shows speeds around 990mbps, but when I connect my Apple TV the speeds drop to 100mbps on both devices. After checking reviews on the network switch I bought, one mentioned it was a lie, and others noted that with multiple devices connected they don’t exceed 100mbps. My concern is whether any recommended switches have genuine 1gb ports. The TP-Link TL-SG105S listed here doesn’t seem to work as described.

Among the 14,000 reviews, only one mentioned the same issue. I possess the identical switch and can confirm that fully occupied ports aren't an issue. You might have other problems or a defective device.

For the Apple TV, unless it supports 4K, it functions as a 10/100 connection.

Changed the Ethernet cables to higher quality Cat 6 cables and checked one at a time. It’s unclear if Fakespot is displaying many genuine reviews.

I don’t really believe in that site, but that’s not the main issue. You only got one review out of 14,000. Please exchange it and try again. It’s a simple $20 change with no clever features.
