The Msi Z97 PC Mate doesn't let me adjust the CPU ratio.
I just bought the MSI Z97 PC Mate and the Intel g3258!
The BIOS isn’t letting me raise the CPU Ratio for overclocking, but I can lower it. If I enter 30, it stays at that setting unless I type anything higher than 32 (stock), then it goes back to 32 when I press Enter?
I’m using the newest BIOS and the motherboard is recognizing the CPU as unlocked!
Help me out!
It seems this CPU could be "faulty" due to prior overclocking. Therefore, another CPU should be checked to verify if the original (G3258) is defective or if the motherboard itself might be the issue.
If a different CPU isn't accessible for testing, consider trying an alternative motherboard, provided one is available. Otherwise, it appears there are no viable alternatives.
Examine CPU for any damage, dirt, or loose pins and pads. If everything is fine, reinstall the CPU gently and uniformly. Wipe down CMOS.
Take out the CPU and inspect it along with its socket for any broken, dirty pins and pads. If everything is fine, reinstall the CPU gently and uniformly.
If feasible, attempt to use a more overclocked CPU (take one from a neighbor, friend, or anyone else).
