Hey everyone, I just assembled my first PC last night and was really thrilled when everything started working perfectly. Lights came on, fans spun, and I felt like I’d done it right the first time. But then I realized something strange—my PC wouldn’t boot with the new RAM in channel “A.” I originally bought 32GB (3600Hz) G.Skill Trident Z RAM, but no matter which slot I used, it wouldn’t recognize. My old RAM from my previous build managed to boot and showed up in BIOS, so I returned the faulty one and bought a new Vengeance LPX RAM (32GB/3600Hz) from Best Buy. I thought it was just bad RAM, but when I got home the issue persisted. I read online that I should try boosting the RAM speed to 3600Hz and see if it works. So I swapped in my old stick, set the new RAM to 3600Hz, put the new one in the B2 slot, and suddenly it booted! Now I’m trying to figure out what’s going on. The problem is that channel “A” doesn’t work at all. When I put the RAM in A1 or A2, the diagnostic lights on MSI Ez Debug blink white for “dram” and “cpu” in both A1 and A2. The RAM actually functions fine in both B1 and B2 channels. I tested each channel alone and with both sticks together, but only channel “B” seems to work. I can place the sticks side by side in B, but I’d like to use dual channel since I have two RAM modules. Is this a motherboard issue? Could it be a user error? Is there a way to fix it without taking the whole PC apart or returning the motherboard? I really hope there’s a solution so I don’t have to wait another week and disassemble everything. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
