Looking for someone with more technical knowledge to assist with this PC issue. The system won’t boot and the HDMI isn’t displaying anything. On startup, the CPU indicator stays red. It has an MSI X570S Max Edge WIFI motherboard, a Ryzen 5 5600X CPU, 2x16GB DDR4 RAM, a 3050 GPU, and the fans are running normally. I’ve tried several fixes but nothing seems to work. Any ideas?
It's a fresh installation and it hasn't started functioning yet. All specifications are listed: CPU is Ryzen 5 5600X, motherboard is MSI X570S, Wi-Fi is Max Edge, power supply is Corsair RM750X, RAM is two 16GB G.Skill Trident Z DDR4 sticks, GPU is GeForce RTX 3050, monitor is MSI Optix G242 23in, SSD is Samsung 970 EVO plus 1TB, cooler is Corsair h100i, fans are Lian Li SL120. Someone recommended updating the BIOS using the flashback bios button on the motherboard, but I tried that too—renamed the ROM file to MSI.ROM, inserted the USB drive, pressed the button and it just kept flashing at the same speed without any change. I think I might be making a mistake, but I’m not sure what’s going on.
Check the components connected to the motherboard. Confirm if everything matches the instructions in the video. Since there’s only an 8-pin and a 24-pin connector, ensure nothing else is present besides those.
Ah yes, this is where I get a bit lost. I tried to update the BIOS via flashback BIOS, and it just blinks eternally? I'm going out right now to buy new USB 3.0 and 2.0 flash drives and trying those instead, but this is what happens: - Download the correct version and rename it to MSI.ROM - Format the flash drive to fat32 - Put the MSI.ROM file in the flash drive and eject - Put the flash drive into the corresponding port and clicking the flash BIOS button - It flashes forever without changing speed or anything. Help lol?
I noticed that immediately after posting and adjusting the settings. On an MSI B550 running my 5800X, it performed perfectly without any additional components on the motherboard.
Sure, I understand. I’ll focus on just the 24-pin and 8-pin connectors now. Let me try that again.
Give it a go. I understand how it functions in the video and how it did for me. I didn’t test other parts on the motherboard. Because you already had components there, I cleared the CMOS just to be thorough. I don’t know why you needed it, but there’s a button for that, so it’s best to use it.
