Summary: Received MSI GS66 stealth 15.6" in 2022 with no power, sent for repair under warranty. Issue resolved after removing battery and disconnecting it briefly. Possible cause linked to static buildup. No need to disassemble often; repairs aren’t practical. In the UK, I’m checking consumer rights options—still has two months left on warranty. Looking into possible fixes at home if needed.

Are you using the power adapter that came with your laptop? Various adapters provide different wattage outputs. Static electricity might be contributing to these issues. Here are some suggestions to reduce static accumulation: Stay on a solid surface: Build or disassemble computers on a clean, flat area to limit static formation. Choose static-resistant attire: Wool and certain synthetic materials tend to collect static; opt for cotton instead if you can. Increase humidity in dry conditions: Static is more likely in arid settings—use a humidifier if needed. Connect via grounding: Before handling internal parts, touch a metal object or wear an anti-static wristband.

The main change came from the initial repair, specifically the new power lead I installed. I brought it back, placed it on a wooden surface, tested it, turned off the device, and then reattached it. After two days, the same problem returned—something unusual given my limited experience.
