The mouse right-click button appears unstable or non-functional.
I have a ROG Chakram Core mouse. The right-click button becomes either very jittery or it doesn't work at all. Clicking on any other button also triggers the right click button. Sometimes the problem fixes itself and it works perfectly fine but then it comes back later. This mouse is brand new, only having bought it 5 days ago and the problem had started occurring a couple days back.
Here's what I've tried doing:
tried updating drivers
tried restarting my computer
tried the cmd scannow
tried a spare mouse and it worked normally
tried using other USB ports
tried the mouse on another computer to no avail
tried swapping the replaceable switches
I have a sneaking suspicion that it might have something to do with the wires/cables but I don't have enough knowledge in troubleshooting these things. Any help would be appreciated.
Send back the mouse. No other tasks are needed with it.
By the way, this is why warranties exist for PC hardware—so if a defect appears within a reasonable timeframe, you can have it repaired or replaced by the manufacturer.
