I've experienced this problem consistently over the past few months. My mouse often freezes and stays unresponsive until I disconnect and reconnect it. It seems to work around background games, though I'm not sure why. I've tried several fixes—reinstalling Windows, upgrading to 11, replacing the mouse, and getting a new motherboard, CPU, and RAM. Still no clear solution. My setup includes a MSI MAG B760 board, an Intel i7-13700K CPU, Corsair Vengeance DDR5 32GB RAM, Zotac RTX 4070 Ti GPU, and a Cooler Master MWE Gold 850W power supply. I'm still trying to figure out what else might help.

Hello there! It looks like you're curious about some system issues. Are you checking Event Viewer for clues or looking at Device Manager changes? It might be worth verifying if the CPU is overheating or if the motherboard is malfunctioning. Also, confirm whether all microcode and BIOS updates were applied correctly on your new setup. Try connecting the devices in different USB ports to see if that resolves the problem.

I've rearranged the ports (needed for accessibility because of how often I have to disconnect them). That didn't help much. I also updated my BIOS, but the problem persists. I'll check the Event Viewer and Device Manager, though it's challenging to get consistent results since I can't reliably trigger it. It feels strange that power delivery seems to resolve the issue when higher power is used. The fact it works better with more power usage is also puzzling.

It's actually noteworthy about PSUs: they offer a variety of power output and can reliably supply energy across their full rating range. I recently replaced a PSU because it performed inconsistently at low voltages but was dependable at higher levels. Still, I’d lean toward the possibility that the motherboard itself might be the issue.

I've attempted to replace the entire motherboard, but the problem persists. Fortunately, I changed it to a compatible replacement part.
