I recently began experiencing difficulties in Warzone where my mouse would intermittently lose tracking for a brief period before returning to normal.
I don’t hear a Windows device disconnect sound during these instances, my mouse’s RGB lighting doesn’t turn off, and the issue appears randomly, often every 30 seconds to a minute or more, sometimes consecutively.
My mouse model is a Corsair Katar Pro XT. I’m using a polling rate of 1000 and a DPI of 950.
I installed ICUE after receiving some recent videos suggesting it could cause PC crashes, which added another layer of concern. I removed it afterward.
I also attempted to uninstall the mouse drivers via Device Manager and updated them through ICUE, but nothing resolved the problem.
I’ve tried cleaning the sensor and following other basic troubleshooting steps recommended online.
This issue isn’t limited to Warzone; it has also occurred on my desktop and happens frequently while playing Paladins.
I don’t believe I’ve accidentally hit the mouse too hard, nor is the mouse old enough to be physically damaged (though I hope that’s not the case).
A video I recorded should illustrate the problem clearly. At 0:03, during the roll and a few frames later, my mouse stopped responding. At 0:11 you can observe a freeze, where it reverts to its previous state, and I’m moving it around extensively in an attempt to resolve it—then it experiences a prolonged freeze afterward at 0:13, which is frustrating.
EDIT: The background applications running continuously include Flux, Steam, Wallpaper Engine, Spotify, and Discord. These are all programs I’ve used since installing the PC, so I’m not certain they’re the cause.

Update your post with complete hardware details and operating system information. Provide PSU specifications, including make, model, wattage, and condition (original, new, refurbished, used). List disk drive specifications such as make, model, capacity, and current usage. As a step for clarification, stop all background applications. Assess whether the mouse issue persists or resolves. Revert apps gradually, pausing between each change to observe if the problem continues or improves. Consider that recent updates, driver changes, or OS modifications might have triggered the issue. Review Reliability History and Event Viewer for any recorded errors linked to the mouse problems.
